In the Singapore food scene, there are several Malay favourites even non Malays enjoy always. If you go to a hawker centre, surely you will find a stall selling Mee Rebus. Learn from our guest chef Julia Tan whose Local Malay Mee Rebus and her Signature Pekedel are always on the request list.

MENU FOR THE DAY: (A total of 2 hours 30 minutes):

1) LOCAL MALAY MEE REBUS:
This Local Malay Mee Rebus is prepared from soup stock made with Dried Ikan Billis and Dried mini shrimps which is also known as 'grago'. The soup stock is then boiled with spices and grounded peanut and thickened with Sweet Potato Starch mixture. Serve this Mee Rebus gravy over yellow noodle and taugeh (beansprouts) and garnish generously with deep-fried Taukua, hard boiled eggs and Chinese Parsley and Green Chillies.

2) PEKEDEL:
For Potato lovers, you will like this deep fried PEKEDEL which is fragrant and delicious. You can serve it as a side dish either with rice or noodle dishes.

3) MUNG BEAN SAGO DURIAN DESSERT:
This is a dessert with Mung Beans & Pearl Sago which are cooling for the body. With Durian added, it is very fragrant and creamy with the addition of Coconut Milk. A dessert you would not want to miss.

FEES FOR 1 SESSION 2 HOURS 30 MINUTES: S$70/- ON LEARNING "SINGAPORE MALAY FAVOURITES WORKSHOP" focusing on Local Malay Mee Rebus, Pekedel, Mung Bean Sago Durian Dessert. A CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE WILL BE AWARDED ON COMPLETION OF THE WORKSHOP.


CLASS SCHEDULE AS FOLLOWS:

(A) WEEKEND GROUP DEMO WORKSHOP: 26/November/2006 Sunday from 2.30pm to 5pm

BOOKINGS starting immediately. Please indicate in your email whether your prepayment will be by cheque or through INTERNET BANKING. Your payment confirms your REGISTRATION.

(B): FORM YOUR OWN PRIVATE GROUP:
Morning 10am Session/Afternoon 2.30pm Session:

We invite you to form your own group at S$70 per person for attending the short course of two lessons with ingredients costs included. If your group is less than 5 persons, an additional ingredient cost of S$10 per person is required for the short course. A minimum group of 4 is required. Please email me to reserve a date/time for your own private group.

(C): For CORPORATE TEAM BONDING/FELLOWSHIP GROUP BOOKINGS:
Based on this set of Menu, we either can conduct a GROUP DEMO session for a big group of 20 persons at a special Corporate Rate OR a HANDS-ON PARTICIPATION session for a small group of 12 each time. We invite you to contact us by email with your choice/reservation on date & time for our quotation to you.

(D): For those who wish to learn on a ONE TO ONE basis for business purpose, the fee for the short course of two lessons will be S$1,000/- with hands on participation. For arrangement of time schedule please contact us by email /tel:6-2273777. BOOKINGS STARTING IMMEDIATLEY.

The earlier you make your BOOKING with payment the faster we can confirm with you the commencement date. In the event that there is a delay to the commencement date, you can have a choice to wait for the postponed class or use the paid fee to attend other topics or even request for a refund.

(3) FOR CASH PAYMENT please enclose your CASH in a sealed envelope and drop it into my RED MAIL BOX outside my premises at your own convenient hours. (You don't have to see me personally to do this). Remember to write your name, contact nos and indicate which class you are paying behind your sealed envelope. After depositing the sealed envelope into my red mail box, please give me a call to alert me to remove the envelope from the red mail box.


To reach my studio, if you are using MRT, stop at OUTRAM and use the NORTH EAST LINE exit F (Singapore General Hospital) or Exit G (Police Station). When you are at the road level, walk towards Kampung Bahru Road direction. Next to No: 1 Kampung Bahru Road, there is a side lane (Spottiswoode Park Road), just walk in, the 3rd yellow colour 3 storey conservation house is our studio. You can see a signboard with my name, CATHERINA HOSOI. If you are coming by car, turn in from Neil Road.
